abstract = "Results from the Angra-02 Mission initiated on 6-7 october and
completed on 22 October 1981,are presented ' herein. Poor weather
conditions during 6-7 October limited the field operations to
measurements from the boat. On 22 October, the INPE aircraft made
a set of 18 flightlime over the area of the Angra dos Reis power
plant. During each fiightline, radiometric and air temperatures
were recorded. Following the last fiightline, the aircraft made an
aerial sounding to about 6,100 m which wae compared with the daily
sounding at Gale{\~a}o Airport (RJ,RJ). Satellite data were
recorded in S{\~a}o Jos{\'e} dos Campos (SP) concurrent with the
ground and air operations. Results from Angra-02 Mission show the
sea surface temperature (SST) to posses a daily heating cycle with
amplitude of 0.40 maximum and minimum temperatures occurred
respectively, at 15 and 03 hoz6, (ET). DUring the Mission, the
mean SST in P{\'{\i}}raquara de Fora Bay measure{\'o} from the
boat was 22.7- C (a=+0.05°C); a representative SST for Itaorna was
23.3°C. The SST measured from the boat was found to differ from
the radiometric SST in response to the integratedprecipitable
water vapor according to the equation T - T = 1.8 (S20) - 0.84
(P..0.98.; P=0.01). sfe prt There was little change in this
temperature difference above because the majority ofwater vapor
was below this level.",
